Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the US and is a writer from Greece, a syndicated journalist and businesswoman. She founded The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a writer and television host, as well as philanthropist as well as the owner and editor of The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece Arianna Huffington immigrated to England with her family at the age of 16. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA degree in Economics. Being the first non-English-speaking student to graduate, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. As a conservative syndicated blogger when she graduated, she was able to be an influential voice for the Huffington Post. The fame she gained allowed her to persuade a number of famous people to share their opinions about current affairs, culture and politics. Arianna was first noticed in 2003 as she stood in California's recall vote, in the place of Governor Davis. In addition to this she was the leader of the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as one of the top women in media gaining 12th position in the list. The same year, the Guardian listed her on the top 100 of media lists. AOL purchased The Huffington Post from AOL in the year 2011. She was then made the head of the media division at AOL. It included a number of AOL owned properties like Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos the journalist and management consultant. Though she shared a close connection to both of her parents and father, it was their relationship that helped shape her. She showed leadership traits from the beginning. At the age of 16, she moved to Britain to study and enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. In the years of her university, she belonged to the Cambridge Union debating group where she was elected the first woman and the sole foreign president. She graduated in 1972 with a master's degree in Economics. In the years following her graduation, she became an editor of the critic's column and a television host. In addition, she appeared together with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started creating books with his editorial assistance.
