Anita Sarkeesian (Canadian-American) is a feminist media critic also a speaker who is Canadian. Feminist Frequency was established by Sarkeesian. It hosts video clips featuring commentary and analysis of gender representations in contemporary culture. Anita Sarkeesian has been a media critic, blogger and award-winning feminist for over 10 years. Feminist Frequency is a not-for profit educational site that explores the representation of women in pop culture narratives - is created and directed by Sarkeesian. Committed to deconstructing the stereotypes that are associated with females in pop culture she also is a vocal advocate for issues relating to targeted exploitation of women and the other marginalized groups of people in the online environment. Sarkeesian is a graduate in social thought and politics from York University. She is also an internationally acclaimed public speaking.
