It is still unknown why the marriage didn't work. Linda is open about every aspect of her life via Twitter on her profile however, she did not explain the reason why her marriage didn't work out. She has never been involved in a long-term argument or violence. Jim and Linda split in the first divorce, Jim then moved to an entirely different residence in the same area.
