Allison Chinchar is a meteorologist for CNN and HLN. She appears regularly on CNN's "New Day Weekend" and HLN's "Weekend Express', as being a regular guest on CNN International shows. Prior to joining CNN, in June of 2015, she was employed by many local radio stations including those in Atlanta as well as Nashville. The meteorologist has covered wildfires, floods, hurricanes as well as snowstorms. In 2019, she was nominated to win an Emmy award for her reporting of the hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas. Then she reported on an event known as the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011 when over 350 tornadoes struck on the Southeastern United States in just four days, with over 200 occurring on April 27th in a single day. She's covered weather patterns, climate change and earthquakes and volcanoes due to her experience in environmental science. Chinchar holds a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Science. She graduated from The Ohio State University. Chinchar is a part of several organizations, including The American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
